Process workflow for the Oxyfuel Workspace

Operator Moves the Torch to Plate Surface and Zeros the Plate

Operator moves the Torch up and starts Oxy Manually

Rapid move to pierce location ↓

Move torch to Preheat height ↓

Wait for programmed preheat time ↓

Open cutting oxygen - spare relay tiggers↓

Wait for pierce completion ↓

Begin lead-in at creep speed ↓

Accelerate to normal cutting speed ↓

Follow programmed contour ↓

Close cutting oxygen at contour end ↓

Rapid move to next contour , process to start again.

Great idea. I can knock this out quickly because it's a fork of the Plasma workspace. Do you know what torch this cutting chart corresponds too and is there any other torches we should support right away?

The Oxyfuel workspace is built and will be in the next pre-release for testing.

It follows the cycle you laid out, end to end: rapid to the pierce location → move to preheat height → dwell for the programmed preheat time → open cutting oxygen on a configurable relay M-code → dwell for pierce → lead-in at creep speed → accelerate to cut speed → follow the contour → close cutting oxygen at the end → rapid to the next pierce.

What you'll find in it:

  • A full CAM workspace, not a stripped-down mode. Everything you're used to in Plasma — nesting, part manager, sheets, tabs, lead-in/lead-out, simulation, DXF import, quoting — is there. Plasma itself is untouched, so nothing changes on the machines you already have running.
  • Oxyfuel machine type. Its own machine list separate from your plasma machines, with a FluidNC oxyfuel post included by default.
  • Torch settings in machine config: torch name and X/Y offset, oxygen on/off M-codes, preheat height, preheat time, pierce delay, cut height, creep lead-in speed and cut speed.
  • Cut chart by thickness — tip size, cutting oxygen, preheat oxygen, fuel pressure, cut speed and kerf. It ships preloaded with the Victor 1-101/3-101 mild steel chart so you have a working starting point out of the box.

Two things I'd like your eyes on when you run it:

  1. Preheat and pierce times. Tip charts don't publish these, so the values in the chart scale with thickness as a starting point. They'll want tuning on your table — let me know what you land on and I'll fold better defaults in.
  2. The pierce bleed distance (how far the lead-in runs at creep before accelerating) is my best estimate right now. Same deal — tell me what actually works and I'll adjust it.

Still want that Harris torch part number when you get a chance. I'll add it as a second cut-chart preset alongside Victor rather than replacing it, so you can pick whichever matches the torch on the machine.
