Engrave to Plasma from Design Workspace

Thanks for the report — you were right, and it turned out to be two separate problems stacked on top of each other.

First, sending a design over with Send To… never asked the Cut/Engrave question. The + From Design button inside Plasma asked about your layers, but Send To… skipped the question and imported everything as cut — so an engrave line arrived as cut geometry instead of an engrave path.

Second, text had a sneakier one: if you moved text onto an engrave layer and then edited it afterward — resized it, changed the font, retyped it — the text silently jumped back to the layer it was created on. The now-empty engrave layer then dropped out of the design, which is why the import stopped asking about layers at all and the engraving vanished.

Both are fixed for the next release. Send To… now shows the same Engrave Layers prompt as every other import path whenever your design has more than one layer, with layers named engrave, mark, marking, or scribe pre-set to engrave. And text stays on whatever layer you move it to, through any edit. Works the same going into Oxyfuel.
