Hi Travis, I'm having an issue with AVTHC only reading around 40-45V (aiming for around 88). I haven't used the machine for a couple of weeks as I've had it unplugged from the table doing some freehand work. Have plugged it back in today and went to cut the same material and files that was cut last time it was used but haven't been able to get it cutting. It pierces like normal then once starting the cut the head rises to about 10-15mm from the material. Have tried new consumables but makes no difference. Scott is away on holidays at the moment and i don't really know a lot about the settings so i don't want to go changing too much and it cause me other issues. i had a look in the CUT CHARTS (see attachment) and noticed that the RS-485 cut mode is set to 3 and factory is set to 1. is this a possibility to be causing my issue do you know or is it something else. Any help would be appreciated if possible cheers Lachy.

Hello Lachy,
No, none of those settings would cause that. I had a bug a few releases ago that caused some of the Powermax 45XP cut charts to be slightly skewed so that explains the difference between factory but they're close enough that it really won't affect much. For instance, that 2v difference on AVTHC setting is very little height. I suspect you cut it before with the settings you currently have. With all that being said, it does not appear to be any type of setting causing your issue. The arc voltage measurement from the Hypertherm is simply being read wrong. Something has changed between the plasma cutter and the StrikeCommand control board. There's also been a few revisions with the StrikeCommand board on Scotts side because the Hypertherm 45xp does not isolate the AV output so early StrikeCommand boards where using a USB Isolators and the new ones have analog isolation circuits built-in. Scott's out in my neck of the woods right now, I spent the day with him and his boy yesterday. He told me your machine has a USB Isolator. Make sure the USB cabled that leads to the StrikeCommand board is connected through that from the control PC. Also make sure the CPC interface is fully seated and the lock is fully locked. Double check that you have the work lead well grounded to the work. Let me know and if everything is as it, I'll do whatever I can from here to help you get that solved as I don't think Scott will be back to Australia until next week sometime.
