Just an idea, if it's feasible to develop -- I have a bunch of Sheetcam job files for partially-cut sheets in my rack.
Attached a 3/8 plate job file from the shop if it helps. 60" (Y) x 120" (X)
This would be really cool to support as an import path! I took a look and SheetCAM's Job files are binary. This typically means that without having knowledge of SheetCAMs Job file structure, it would be incredibly time consuming to implement this. There also may be legal considerations to this. I'm gonna leave this here for now and if there's enough upvotes on this I'll take a stab at it
Hey Joel, I could not leave this one alone. I'm currently importing your SheetCAM job on my dev branch of JetCad3. Could you provide a few more job files and a screenshot of each so I can see how the geometry is actually rendered and nested in SheetCAM. I don't have SheetCAM here on my end so I'll rely solely on your data for validation.
Just a note if the new owners of SheetCAM stumble across this in the future... I'd rather be friends than foes and I think we could work together in the future, I'd encourage you to reach out before perusing any legal action due to JetCad3 supporting SheetCAM .job file imports. I don't believe there is any EULA/Copyright/DMCA/Patent/TM or Trademark violations here with supporting SheetCAM job file imports. I have only inspected your Job files (widely distributed by your users) and there's been no reverse engineering of your Software in any way or form. JetCad3's Scope is much larger than SheetCAM's in general being a full-blown Parametric CAD/CAM system (Full Motion Control coming soon). I can't think of anything functionally SheetCAM is doing that JetCad3 does not currently do in one form or another and I've spent 12 years building the foundation that JetCad3 rests upon which includes the underlying Geometry library's as well as Auto Nesting (Skyline & NFP) so I have NO licensing restrictions what so ever, I own it all verbatim. I have technology that could help grow SheetCAM which already has a considerable and loyal user base (Something JetCad3 does not currently have YET). I think there's opportunity to work together in these respects without stepping on each others feet!
I'll email you some more (rather than releasing to the public).
For the record, here's a screenshot of the file provided above.
3/8 material (although I never bothered changing thickness in sheetcam; job probably has it specc'd as 1/8)
X 120", Y 60"

Yeah, this is super helpful! So I've been able to get some of the geometry out of here but there's still quite a bit of breakage seeing your screenshot. Without that screenshot from you I would not have known my importer is missing complete parts. I'll spend some more time on this tonight and see if I can get this job file importing correctly. Check out what I'm getting on my end
Here's a static screenshot. There's a currently a completely broken part with no mesh too lol. I'm sure I can nail this down though.
