Tabs

At a glance

  • Right-click a contour → Tabs… to leave uncut bridges that hold the part to the skeleton
  • Automatic even spacing or manual click-to-place, drawn as green bridges at kerf width
  • Size tabs as a kerf multiplier or an explicit length — the two inputs stay in sync
  • Torch off, rapid across, full re-pierce at every tab — works on any plasma post with nothing to configure

Tabs leave short sections of a contour uncut so the finished part stays attached to the surrounding sheet until you're ready to pull it — no parts dropping, tipping into the kerf, or catching the torch on the next rapid.

Tabs live on the part: set them up once, then duplicate and nest as usual. Automatic placement spaces a chosen number of tabs evenly around the contour; manual lets you click exactly where each tab goes. They render as green bridges at kerf width and your set length, so you can see precisely what stays connected before you cut.

At each tab the torch turns off, rapids across the bridge, and re-fires with a full pierce — so tabs behave identically on FluidNC, QtPlasmaC, ProMach, FLCNC, or a custom post. Base geometry and lead-ins are never altered, and DXF exports stay tab-free.
