Frame Tool
Updated v2.3.5At a glance
- Traces the program's cut extents with rapid moves so you can verify sheet placement — XY only, Z stays put
- Rapids are excluded from the bounds, so a park move never inflates the frame
- Frame Shapes mode outlines each part individually; True Shape traces the real geometry, arcs included
Frame outlines the loaded program on the sheet with rapid moves so you can verify placement before cutting — XY only, Z never moves, and it only runs while the machine is idle. Bounds come from the actual cut moves; rapids are excluded, so a park move or lead-in rapid never inflates the box.
Frame Shapes and True Shape
The caret opens two toggles. Frame Shapes traces each outside contour individually, in g-code order (holes skipped) — what you want with several parts nested on one sheet. True Shape goes further and traces each part's real geometry, arcs included, instead of its convex hull. Framing speed is under your control, and the moves are flagged so the live trail draws them as rapids.
