Smart Pause

Updated v2.3.3

At a glance

  • Plasma: one click gracefully stops a live cut — feed hold, torch off, retract, optional auto-park
  • Swap consumables, then press Play: it re-touches-off, re-pierces, and jumps back in at the stop point
  • Resume assumes arc-OK through the already-cut kerf, releasing on the first real arc-OK
  • Falls back to a plain feed hold when not actually cutting

A plain feed hold leaves a plasma torch burning in place. With Smart Pause enabled, the Pause button mid-cut instead does a graceful stop: feed hold, settle, then torch off and retract — and with Auto-Park on, the same rapids as the Park button, so consumables get swapped at machine home instead of over the sheet.

Resuming

The stop point is snapped to the program path and armed as a resume point — the Play button lights a jump-in ring and an amber pause badge marks the spot on the toolpath. Press Play and the cut prelude is re-emitted: touch-off, re-pierce, THC on, then the rest of the program runs as if it never paused. Because the re-pierce lands in the already-cut kerf where an arc can't strike, the resume auto-arms the arc-OK latch and releases it on the first real arc-OK.

When the machine isn't actually cutting at the moment you press Pause, the button falls back to a plain feed hold — there's nothing to extinguish.
