Run History & Metrics

Updated v2.4.9

At a glance

  • Every real run recorded start-to-finish: runtime, pierces, cut distance, arc-on / arc-off / paused time
  • One run per job — touchoffs, pierces and M0 pauses never split or end the record
  • Per-run THC graph: Z, velocity, set vs measured arc voltage, colored by THC state
  • Cut view draws the torch's actual path — point at the timeline, see where on the part
  • Toolbar badge with a live run timer; click for the last five runs
  • History dialog with graphs and an OEM-ready PDF report

Every real program run is recorded per machine, from Play to program end — runtime, pierce count, distance, and arc-on / arc-off / paused time, straight through every touchoff, pierce and M0 pause. Probes, framing, MDI, and jogs don't pollute the record, and a Smart-Pause resume continues the same run rather than starting a new one. Stopping mid-cut records an aborted run at the moment you stopped; resuming with jump-in records the resume as its own run.

Two distances are kept: cut distance — the length of path cut with the arc on — and total distance traveled, which includes rapids and probe moves. Pierce and arc-on tracking reads the torch command itself, so it works even on controllers that don't report their pin states back.

The badge and the dialog

A pill next to the connection badge shows a live ticking timer while a program runs (green), yellow during a hold or pause, and the last run's elapsed time when idle. Click it for the last five runs; More… opens the full History dialog with graphs over time and an OEM-ready PDF report.

Retention is indefinite — the only way run history is deleted is an explicit Settings → Reset.

The run graph — see what the THC did

While a program runs, GcodePilot also records the torch's position, velocity, set arc voltage, measured arc voltage and the THC's state many times a second — automatically, for every real run. Expand a run in Run History and hit View graph:

  • Timeline — Z height, velocity and both voltages over the whole cut. The measured voltage draws green while the THC is actively correcting and red while it isn't, so the stabilization delay after each pierce, a corner-lock hold, or the THC being off all read at a glance. The set-voltage line shows amber while the THC is armed; pauses are shaded. Toggle any line, drag to zoom, read exact values under the cursor.
  • Cut view — the torch's actual path over the sheet in the same colors: gray travel, green cutting, red arc-on-but-idle. Point at the timeline and a marker shows where the torch was; point at the path and the timeline jumps to that moment.

The last hundred runs keep their full graphs per machine; run summaries keep forever. In OEM Connect, the dashboard's Stats tab marks which recent runs have a graph — click one and the machine streams it live, timeline and cut view both.
