Portable Project Archive

Updated v2.5.8

At a glance

  • Store project notes, images, PDFs, datasheets, quotes, and other references inside the .jc3
  • Browse, search, organize, import, and export through the existing file browser
  • Edit Markdown documents with revision history and links to embedded files
  • Carry project conversations and their attachments through Save As and reopening
  • Existing Project Memory remains available as the Overview document
  • Provider credentials and computer-specific permissions stay outside the project

Project Archive makes a .jc3 a portable project file for both the design and its supporting material. Notes, reference images, PDFs, quotes, and project-agent conversations can travel with your geometry and CAM work.

Browse and organize

Choose Project in JetCad3's file browser. Create folders and text documents, import supporting files, and use search, rename, move, and copy to keep the project organized. Export an entry when you need a separate file for another application.

Supported text documents open in the editor. Images, video, and PDFs use the existing preview and viewing tools. Other attachments can be stored and exported; storing a file does not run it.

Research and screenshots

Agent Tower can add screenshots and downloaded public HTTP/HTTPS references to the archive. Downloads retain the source URL and retrieval details so you can identify where a datasheet or picture came from.

Tower's Screenshot action opens the capture and annotation workflow. Copy the annotated result and paste it into the project conversation. Multiple image attachments are saved as project assets, alongside the conversation that refers to them.

Moving a project

Save the .jc3, then copy it or use Save As. Reopening it restores the embedded documents, attachments, and saved project-session history. A separate project folder is not required for these embedded items.

Provider accounts, API keys, private provider conversations, and shell permissions do not travel in the file. Configure a provider on the destination computer before continuing an agent session. Global Tower sessions stay on the original computer unless you explicitly copy or move them into a project.

Archive size

Project Archive supports up to 4,096 entries and 1 MiB per text document. Ordinary binary attachments are limited to 64 MiB each and 256 MiB per project. Each text document retains up to 20 prior revisions. Tower conversations have their own storage budget.

Imported 3D scan references use dedicated embedded storage with separate limits; they do not consume the ordinary attachment allowance. See the scan guide for capacity and platform qualification details.

Oversized additions report an error rather than silently cutting off content. Keep ordinary attachments outside the project when they exceed their limits.
