JetCad3 can screenshot and screen-record itself — built for the moment something looks wrong and you want to show it, not describe it. Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+X and the screen freezes under a shroud; drag a box around what matters and it brightens inside a marquee with a toolbar underneath. A camera button in the tab bar (right of the clock on an appliance) carries the full menu: capture or record, an area or the whole window.
Screenshots
Drag to select — or click once for the whole window — then hit Copy (or press Enter) and the screenshot is on your clipboard, ready to paste into a forum post, an email, anywhere. A toast confirms it with one-click Save a copy… and Attach to post buttons. The live pixel readout shows the exact capture size while you adjust the marquee by its handles.
Mark it up first
The toolbar carries arrow, box, and text tools with a color palette. Every mark stays live after you place it: click to select, drag to move, pull an arrow's ends or a box's corners to reshape, double-click text to rewrite it, pick a swatch to recolor, press Delete to remove. Cmd/Ctrl+Z walks back any change. When it says what you need it to say, Copy or Save.
Screen recording
Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+R, choose the area the same way, and hit record. The camera button turns into a red stop control with a running timer, and a thin red outline shows exactly what's being recorded — without ever appearing in the video. Recordings are standard MP4 files, and they draw the mouse pointer with a ripple on every click, so "then I clicked here" is visible, not narrated. Press the hotkey again or click stop when you're done; recordings cap at ten minutes.
Where captures go
Every screenshot and recording is filed automatically the moment it's finished, so nothing depends on catching the toast in time:

A Captures shortcut appears in the file browser's sidebar as soon as the folder exists. A recording you took an hour ago is still right there when you sit down to write the post — and you can play it back inside JetCad3.
From the toast you can also send it anywhere else:
- Clipboard — screenshots copy instantly; paste them anywhere.
- A copy, anywhere — Save a copy… uses the themed file picker, remembers your folder, and writes to disk, a network share, or a connected OneDrive / Google Drive. The button beside it opens the capture's folder — in the built-in Files browser on an appliance, Finder on a Mac, Explorer on Windows.
- Community — Attach to post opens the Community composer with your screenshot or recording already uploading. See it, describe it, submit it.
Private by construction
Captures are built from JetCad3's own surfaces only. Your desktop, other windows, and notifications can never appear in a screenshot or recording — and no operating-system screen permission is ever requested.
