Signing In & Saved Logins

JetCad3 signs you in with your jetcad.io account. Once you're signed in it stays that way — the sign-in screen only comes back when the session expires, when you sign out, or when you start on a new machine. Saved logins make that return trip a single click, and let one computer hold several accounts.
Save a login
On the Sign In screen, switch on Save this login below the password box before you sign in. That account is then remembered on this computer. The next time the sign-in screen appears it's listed under the form with its avatar and name — click the row and JetCad3 signs in and opens.
Save as many accounts as you like. They're listed with the one you used most recently at the top: handy on a shared shop computer, or when you keep a customer's account alongside your own. To forget one, hover its row and click the ×. That only removes it from this list — the account itself, and everything in it, is untouched, and you can save it again any time.
Switch accounts
Click your profile picture in the top-right corner. Any other saved account appears as Switch to <name> — pick one and JetCad3 signs straight into it and reloads. No signing out first.
If that account's password has been changed on jetcad.io since you saved it, the switch simply doesn't happen and you stay signed in where you are, with a note explaining why. Sign out and back in to store the new password.
When a password changes
Change your password on the website and the saved copy on your computer is out of date. The first time you use it, the server turns it down — so JetCad3 drops the stored password (it's wrong now) but keeps the account in your list. The sign-in screen fills in the email and asks for the new password, and remembers that one instead.
Losing your internet connection is treated as the completely different thing it is: nothing is forgotten, and your saved login works normally as soon as you're back online.
How saved passwords are stored
Saved passwords are encrypted on disk — never written in plain text, and never included in a settings backup you could read. The key that unlocks them is generated on this computer and combined with details of this specific install, so copying your settings folder to another machine produces a file that can't be opened there. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing syncs between computers.
Two practical consequences: reinstalling your operating system, or moving to a new machine, means saving your logins again — one switch, the next time you sign in. And a saved login unlocks the app on that computer only; it is not a way to share an account across a shop. For that, see License Sharing.
Show what you typed
Every password box in JetCad3 has an eye button on the right. Click it to reveal what you've typed, click again to hide it — on the Sign In screen, on a shared license passphrase, and on the Wi-Fi password when you're setting up a machine.
Other ways to sign in
- Offline Key — a product key for machines that never go online.
- Hardware Key — a Lifetime Unlimited License plugged into the computer, or borrowed over your network from another JetCad3 that has one.
- Free / Hobby — no account at all, with limits.
Saved logins apply to jetcad.io accounts. The other three don't need a password to begin with.
