Update Channels

Updated v2.5.0

At a glance

  • Release channel (default) only prompts on official stable builds — shop machines stay undisturbed
  • Pre-release channel gets each experimental build the moment it's published
  • Switching back to Release offers to roll you back to stable right away
  • Previous Releases lists every version, color-tagged Release or Pre-release, for one-click rollback
  • JC3 Appliances update from the same dialog — download with progress, restart, never mid-cut

Settings → About → Update Channel picks your track. Release (the default) only prompts you to update when a build is marked the official latest — the machine making parts all day never gets pulled onto an in-progress build. Pre-release opts into each experimental build as soon as it's published, with a clear warning that pre-release builds are experimental.

Turn the channel back to Release after testing and JetCad3 offers to return you to the current stable build immediately. The Previous Releases list shows every version color-tagged green (Release) or red (Pre-release), so rolling back to any specific version is one click.

On a JC3 Appliance

An installed appliance updates from the same dialog. JetCad3 checks for a newer release, downloads it with real progress, and restarts into the new version when you say so — and it refuses to restart while a program is running on the table, the same guard as the power controls.
